Hi Ian and all,
Like I've said I occasionally check the Edinburgh weather and expect the
warming trend extends to the rest of the UK as well. That's what the Road
Department was waiting for, more sun means less salt. Just as well, salt
promotes rust as any car owner will testify to.
I haven't seen Day Of The Jackal in years and for that matter never connected
the attempts on DeGaulle with it. It must have been hard to find doubles not
only because of his height but his nose was second only to Jimmy Durante. No,
he wasn't a much loved angelic man, the various protests made that abundantly
clear. Neither was Kennedy but he too has plenty named for him, all part of
the heroic mystique that surrounded them both.
Official Secrets Act or no it's not a good idea to run off at the mouth, the
walls have ears. It all goes back to the story of Samson, his mouth caused so
much trouble until he wised up.
