Hi Pete and all,
No, your deep freeze isn't going south, it's already here with snow. This
weekend brings relief to both of us, come Monday and it will be mild again
and rain later in the week. Below freezing is normal for January but I'm
thankful for an overall mild winter, the bones don't creak so much and
heating costs are less severe. Thankfully it's not like a few years ago when
the whole month was frigid to the point everything but the ocean was frozen
but there was plenty of ice on the beach. People couldn't afford heating fuel
so thermostats went to minimum to keep pipes from freezing and electric
heaters in bedrooms where everybody stayed was common practice. Bad enough
cooking and washing dishes but I for one am not fond of a cold toilet seat!
Don't mind the smell, if you think I'm getting naked for the shower you must
be mad, under these conditions we're Eskimoes hunting on the ice and it's a
three dog night.
