I was waiting for the predicted warming and WX improvement over SAT and it
did come. Around midnight, every thing white with snow and ice as for the
last two weeks then, by morning, not a trace and temp picking up as
promised - nice.
To live in Holland is very good that is why they make it difficult. You
can always marry a Dutchwoman or knowing Holland, another d Dutchman. You
must learn to speak Dutch inside 6 months, not a hard language, then pass
an exam and be in full time work for at least 6 months.
The rules were tightened after 1979 when hundreds of brits moved there
after we got Mad Cow, Maggie Thatcher as Prime minister, putting 6 m out
of work.
I have never flown on an A380 but on the smaller ones like the A219, they
are relatively cheap and have six seats across in the space where the 737
has 5.
The big one is probably the Antonov 125 which was made to ferry Soviet
rockets to their launchpoints. It is in private hands now but gets quite a
lot of users as it is the biggest a/c in the world. There are a few
Ilyushin 76s and similar which come close.
I don't like films like The Day of the jackal much but that was very well
made, so I don't mind it.
Christopher Lee played Scaramanga. He must be pretty old by now. I
remember a film he acted in as a young man where he played a soldier. I
thing they had him standing in a hole to disguise his 6ft 7 ins height and
not tower ofer John Mills who played the lead and was about a foot
shorter.
Then he went on to play Count Dracula in all thos Hammer films, which he
says he hated -I wish!, money for old rope! He has been in a few others,
he ploayed a sinister,posh Englishman in most things because he had learnt
his accent at private school, he is actually Spanish. I would think he has
moved back to Spain where he is probably one of the very few rich men.
Peter Cushing is long gone as is Denis, G0KIU who used to go to the same
Gasthof as him on the German/Austrian border, Denis would never say where
it was or what it was called for obvious reasons.
Take care and I hope your WX is the same as ours because it is nice to
look out and see averything green again after the white. slippery stuff -
fingers crossed.
