Hi OM,

Yes I use DOS BPQ408a in a local BBS ZL1AB. It runs at the same time as
DOS F6FBB's BBS program 7.00i.

I have BPQ408a running an Ethernet card so it can connect to a further PC
running G8PZT's Xrouter program (Packet switch, TCP/IP Router, APRS
Digipeater, Chat server & lots of features)./ The Xrouter has three TNCs
(KISS ROMs fitted) connected to three radios.

I have back copies of the files used to make it work.

What is your system doing, how many ports & anything else connecting to it
would be good to know.

I have run DOS BPQ 408a in a Win3.1 or Win95 PC to be able to allow
applications like Winpack & UI-View to run "dumb" serial 1k2 modems
(equivalent to the Baycom serial modem). DOS BPQ408a runs USCC cards OK.

In some situations BPQ408a is more useful than the AGWpe because AGWpe
needs a 32 bit O/S, so won't run under Win3.1 for old PCs that Amateurs
like to experiment with.

The G8PZT Xrouter is like a "Turbo-charged" BPQ408a, but is a DOS only
program that doesn't allow me to run FBB in the same PC.

There is now a 32 bit Windows version of BPQ. DX Cluster server operators
like to use it. There are a few things BPQ32 bit Windows version will not
do: USCC cards, Parallel port modems for example. Development of BPQ32 is
on-going.
