I've recently bought a new set-top box.
It's one of those mini ones - only 70mm X 27mm X 54mm and only weighs
85 gms.
Power consumption (on) 5.0 watts
Power consumption (STBY) 1.5 watts.
The remote control is a lot bigger than the STB.
It's a full feature box including the latest Audio Description feature
built in. I've only had it a day but suitably impressed.
I expected problems of desensing from the packet radio activity here but
it seems completely imune. A lot of the computer DVB adaptors are useless
in my situation due to desensing from VHF/UHF amateur radio but this little
box comes through with flying colours.
I've only tried the RF connections so far to connect to the TV ( a lot of
set-top boxes don't have this facility) and havn't yet tried the AV
connector - Stereo & CVBS ( via 2.5mm AV socket ).
It's sold as a "Micro Digital TV Receiver" and comes under the "Tevion"
label.
