I have used a mild steel bar 6mm x 400mm shaped like a butcher's hook, with an
insulated loop at the bottom & put into a sturdy chimney pot, to support 160m
long wire aerial going over the house.
____ Insulated

±± over Ý ±± Þ//~\\ .ú'
±± top Ý ±± \\__//ú'
±± of Ý ±± ~~~~ú aerial wire
±± Pot ±± '.threaded

To insulate the loop I put on 150mm of polly tubing, & over that some garden
hose pipe, before bending it in to a loop in a strong vice, & leaving just
enough gap to let the wire in.
To put it in place once the wire was threaded @ 11m up, I "loosely" taped it to
a thin light 5m pole, that went through the loop. Then using a ladder at only
gutter height aimed it at the pot. Once in place worked the pole to free it
from the tape.
See my TECH bul on "Tree Antenna Sky Hooks" & "Casting Lead Throwing Weights"
Why Don't U send an interesting bul?
