Although you can legally turn down having a smart meter, a "no" answer does not
seem to get logged, as they have targets to reach in fitting them.
However I seemed to be sucessfull in turning down the umteenth request for one
to be installed. I said "This is an RF quiet radio Ham location & no
electronics are permitted on site, that I can't switch off". This was duely
logged by the electric Co.
Only time well tell if this actually works.
Smart meters have a SM wall wart PSU that can cause QRM, & any CPU electronics
connected to mains may get some RF into your shack or nearby aerials! It is the
"No choice" once fitted, that might be difficult to live with.
See my tech Bul "Reducing Electronic RF QRM"
Why don't U send an interesting bul?
