Re Quitting Packet, well I suppose old avid users like myself sometimes
feel that way but, its like trying to stop eating a bag of peanuts and
packet for me is something I think that is in my blood.
Yes packet users of a ham type have dwindled to a mere handfull apart
from the flower and weather types that bore us to death!
However it is the same with ham radio. The lack of activity on repeaters
and HF is disgusting, in view of the large number of licensed hams that
are never heard these days.
Here in VK we have licesed nearly 2000 F calls but they are mostly never
heard of again. Maybe only 10% have gone on air and only 1% remain active.
And so it i with packet we are a dying race but I hope to be still here
when it ends???
Dave
PS I was into packet when it started and strongly support FBB and Winpac
6.8
