Due to a recent spike in attempted hacking of my 44 ip address,
I am now using JNOS's built in command called 'TCP ACCESS' to
ban IP addresses I find in my logs that were attempting to gain
access. (Such as trying to telnet in with a callsign of 'ROOT')
Because of this, I am also going to be sending periodic bulletins
labeled as 'ban@ww' that will show recent IP Addresses I have banned.
I encourage all other sysops to join me in distributing known
IP Addresses you find in your logs as well, and also send them to
'ban@ww'. Any IP Addresses you send that I receive, I will also
add to my current banned list.
Together we can quickly create a large list of IP Addresses that
cab be banned from our stations.
If you do not use JNOS, your station setup or operating system
may have a way to also ban IP Addresses, and these lists may
be useful to you as well.
