Short reply: *switch off* the xfbb and manually delete *all files*
in /usr/local/var/ax25/fbb and those located in 'mail' and 'binmail'
directories; leave untouched other directories.
Then restart xdfbb and reply 'yes' to all answers to re-create the
all system files. Naturally you have to re-create the setup for you
the sysop, and for all your PBBS partners.
Naturally tou have to have a functioning 'epurmess' executable which
don't crash and showing an equivalent reply as this below:

The other fault is that after killing the above msg and then
restarting the 'maintenance' the 'epurmess.res' don't show
any activity about the killed/purged message (see below)...
but the bonus is that it result completely purget from the
'mail' directory.
