I am not wound up, I have been having this debate for a while
that's all.
No big deal, things are set and done but I just feel it is not
correct.

close your mind to the arguements that other people might make,
then you should not be surprised if they, in turn, ignore your
point of view as well...

At some point the FCC needs to realize that data is data in such
a manner as to allow mixed modes and allow data with SSB bandwidth
in the SSB portion of the band (out to the full 3kHz, too), data
with AM bandwidth where AM (or NBFM) is permitted, data with the
RTTY sort of bandwidth where RTTY is allowed, and data with CW
bandwidth (all the way out to 100 WPM) where CW is allowed.
(I'd go for the 6 kHz or even 8kHz bandwidths only when the band
occupancy is less than 33%, even. The key is interference not
bandwidth, anyway.)

Data is not permitted above 14.150mhz in the US.

NOT a binary data code then don't bother.
This also goes back to my opinion that SSTV is not Amateur
"Television", it is data/digital mode.
