While we are on the subject of 14.233 and EZPal, as I type this, I am
hearing analog SSTV on .233. This seems to have increased in the last
few months. I don't know if it is the same person or a bunch of people,
but it would sure be nice if they stayed on the "gentleman's agreement"
bandplan of 14.230. It's very frustrating when trying to copy a
marginal digital SSTV signal, and have the analog station on top of the
digital signal.
Yes, I know it is legal, but it is also not very gentlemanly! I know
I'm preaching to the choir, but maybe if the culpret or culprets get
enough static from us, maybe they will get the message and go back to
.230?

Hi Les, I have not done much SSTV lately because too many stick to 14.230,
loads of stations on top of each other.

Dave is right.
But in my opinion none of this belongs according to the band plan, SSTV is a
data mode as far as I see it. Digital just reinforces the fact that data is
being sent and belongs on the bottom of the band where data is allowed.

Hello Les,
I have heard digital TV on 14.230 a couple of times now.
I guess if the frequency is quite this will happen.
What bothers me is SSB sigs on the frequency calling
CQ for 5 minutes or during SSB contest using a 10 KW
signal to take the frequency.

14236 used to be the digital frequency. Digital voice moved in there so
the digital video people moved down. It's a big band. Spread out a little.
Don't use the calling frequency to have a QSO.

"Digital" does NOT equal "data"... Digital is simply a means of encoding
information, be it voice, image, text, or whatever.
Morse code is actually a digital mode...

We have the same problem on 7.173.. contesters only care about contesting,
and all else be damned.. wish they would just give them a section of a
band , instead of the whole thing..
let them all transmit on top of each other for a change..

yell CQ on top of on going qso's?? or on groups sending pictures
