I find it amazing the amount of stations in EU that TX slanted images,
Some are so bad the autoslant has problems sorting them out.
This seems to be a EU problem !!!

When I look at a lot of SSTV sites in USA many run with autoslant off
with most RX images near perfect.

I have tried to tell some stations that they need to sort out their
slant via SSTV and email, the best reply i get is thankyou but you
are the only one to "moan" about it, with many not taking any
notice...

I even added a page to my site giving basic help for most SSTV systems
but looking at the stats on my site, not many lookers !!!

Here is a link to the page http://g0hwc.com/slant.html
If anyone has anything to add or see any errors, please let me know.

Please, when you see someone with bad slant problems, ask them
to sort it out.

Hi Paul.

Unfortunately this is a case of when two wrongs CAN make a right.
If a group of stations are in QSO and they all have the same
soundcard timing errors, they will not see it in the group.
The best way to set the card (IMHO) is a long stretch of WWV.
Then a loopback TX adjustment.
I have had one or two hams say I have some slant, but i rest easy
knowing the error is on their end!
