Tim,
Go to options and click on sstv setup.
Selct the tx window and then in the top left hand side select the radio command button. This will bring up a screen that should let you set up the program so it does not control the radio. At the bottom of that screen there is a drop fown list of radios and I think that is the control you are looking for.
Good Luck

Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. It now works as
expected, but I suspect that I am only scratching the surface of what
it can do.

By the way I added an index to the user guide by Andrew VE1VVV, and
have put the file in the files folder.

The same thing happened to me after upgrading to the latest version
of the software.
If I recall correctly, I clicked to stop the transmit and then
checked to see if the correct com port was selected in the set up
menu.
After selecting the proper com port, I have not suffered that issue
again.
You may be having a similar problem.
I really don't know why it keyed the radio up on start, just know
that it stopped after getting the correct com port selected.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tim,

I could not find the index for the user guide in the files folder.

The Canadian Amateur Radio Callsign Database does not have any record
for VE1VVV.

Problem resolved in getting the index for the user guide. It could not
be saved with my Netscape browser. I was able to get it downloaded
using Internet Explorer.

2a. more new user questions - RX problems

hello again Guys

Gad! I must be thick or something.

A mate of mine and I are both new users and are having the same rx
problem.

OK, on auto receive ( or for that matter if we each select the same
mode ), the pic comes in as a series of rows of coloured lines on a
slight angle from horizontal. On completion, If I press sync, a smiley
face appears below the pic. I click on that and the click on rx again,
and lo and behold, the desired pic appears.

So, how do I (we) set up MMSSTV so that the pic appears properly
automatically?

Also, in the options -> setup -> TX window, if I set the auto stop etc
( right side, second cell down ) the settings are not "learned" by the
program. Is this normal? Or is there a way of getting such settings
to stay as set?

Thanks again for your help

Hi mates. If you are getting slanted images it means
that your sound card is not calibrated (if the sending
station has properly calibrated their card). Calibrate
using the WWV time signals. This will prevent you from
TXing a slanted image. If you need help calibrating,
ask away!
