Gervais,

It's using the moon as a passive reflector to permit radio contacts
between stations in different parts of the world.

Moonbounce requires high ERP with, generally, very low angles of radiation
and the moon is generally very low on the horizon, between the two
stations.

The bands of 2m, 70cm and 23cm are know by me to have been used for
Moonbounce.

You may know it as EME, Earth - Moon - Earth.

A well known VK Moonbouncer from yesteryear is VK3ATN who used VERY large,
stacked, steerable Rhombics on 2m.

Cheers ... Ray vk2tv
