Don't tell me, the aliens came from the Canis Major star system. Ah yes,
worshiping the sacred dog exhaust, these days the law demands putting it
in little plastic bags............
Well, like Yogert (Mel Brooks in Spaceballs) said it's maaaketing, it's
all in the maaketing.
You reminded me of another screwy sci-fi novel I read, the jist of it is
Earth being visited by aliens essentially elephants with hands on the
ends of their trunks. Lacking a rocket ship "our hero" rigs up a huge
upside down bowl packed with atomic bombs that when fired in sequence
propels him to the orbiting spacecraft. I don't remember the ending, to
the best of my recollection I laughed so hard at that point I dropped the
book, tossed it out the window or something.
Yeah, woof.
