COMMENT: Eruptive conditions are foreseen for the next 48 hours, with
NOAA AR 1589 as a prime candidate for C-class flares, with a risk for an

isolated M class flare. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be active

for the next 24 hours, and then return to mostly unsettled conditions on

Oct. 14. Minor storm conditions (Kp=5) are currently observed today at

planetary levels, as well as at local level (K=5 in Dourbes from 06 to

09 UT). This activity is due to a coronal hole. Current readings of the

interplanetary magnetic field show a Bz value of about -5nT, up compared

to the -10nT observed earlier on Oct. 13.
