COMMENT: There is a risk for isolated C flares from NOAA AR 1577 and
1579, which puts the expected solar activity at eruptive levels. The
proton event linked to the C3.7 flare of Sept. 27 is officially over,
but the proton level remains high and might goes up again during the
next 48 hours. Geomagnetic activity is expected to reach minor storm
levels during the same period, as the associated CME arrives at Earth,
with a revised arrival time by midday Sept. 30th. Two other CMEs were
observed during the last 24 hours. One is a halo CME observed by LASCO
on Sept. 28, 1036 UT, but it is a backside event. The other one is
observed by COR2 coronagraphs on Sept. 29, 0900 UT. The source region
seems to be beyond the west limb as observed from Earth.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 050, BASED ON 12 STATIONS.
