PREDICTIONS FOR 03 Aug 2012 10CM FLUX: 150 / AP: 007

COMMENT: Solar activity has been at eruptive levels during the past 24

hours, featuring six low C flares from NOAA AR 11532, 11535 and 11538.

C-level flares are likely within the next 48 hours, with a chance for an

M flare.
ACE observed a small shock in the solar wind around 10h UT on August 2,

which could be the effect of the CME of July 28. Currently, Bz is near

-10 nT and solar wind speed between 400 and 450 km/s. This combination

may lead to active intervals within an otherwise quiet geomagnetic
situation. The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels (K Dourbes between

0 and 2; NOAA Kp between 1 and 2) during the past 24 hours. Quiet (K
Dourbes smaller than 4) levels with isolated periods of active levels (K

Dourbes = 4) are likely for August 2. The geomagnetic field is expected

to be quiet on August 3 and 4.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 094, BASED ON 16 STATIONS.
