COMMENT: An M6.1 flare, from source region 1532 peaking at 20:56 UT on

July 28 was associated with a CME. The speed of the CME is estimated to

be below 500 km/s. The CME has a strong southward component. Impact on

Earth is unlikely and if a glancing blow occurs, the induced geomagnetic

disturbance will be limited. Another long duration M-flare occurred on

July 29. No information is yet available. A magnetic structure visible

in the solar wind on July 28 and 29 has a speed of 350 km/s as measured

by ACE. With a transit time of around 5 days to cross the distance
Sun-Earth, the structure can be possibly traced back to the plasma
eruption on July 23, 02:36UT. The geomagnetic conditions on the
planetary level were unsettled with one active period. The next hours,

unsettled conditions with an occasional period of K=4 are possible
because of the influence of a coronal hole.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 075, BASED ON 08 STATIONS.
