COMMENT: NOAA AR produced a a long duration flare, peaking at 17:15 UT
on July 17, with magnitude M1.7. The flare was associated with a partial
halo CME, seen first at 14:00 UT on LASCO C2 and with an ongoing proton
event with 10 MeV protons passing the 10 pfu threshold. The CME is
directed to the southwest and will miss the Earth, even though a shock
may arrive on July 20. CACTUS reported a halo CME this morning at 06:24
UT, this event is backsided. Geomagnetic conditions are quiet and
expected to remain so.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 037, BASED ON 13 STATIONS.
