COMMENT: Ten sunspot groups were reported by Catania today. Only
occasional C-class flares and one M-class flare were observed during the

past 24 hours. The Catania sunspot group 64 (NOAA AR 1496) produced an
M
3.3 flare peaking at 17:55 UT on June 3. More C-class flares can be
expected from this group as well as from the fast growing Catania
sunspot group 65 (NOAA AR 1497) The fast speed stream, due to recurrent

coronal hole, arrived this morning. The solar wind speed is about 630
km/s and growing. Due to the interval of negative value of the Bz
component of the interplanetary magnetic field (up to -13 nT) active
geomagnetic conditions (Dourbes and IZMIRAN K = 5; NOAA reported Kp= 5)

were reported , on June 3. At the moment the interplanetary magnetic
field (IMF) magnitude is about 10 nT and the Bz component of the
interplanetary magnetic field is fluctuating (down to -13 nT). Due to
the arrival of the fast speed stream, the geomagnetic conditions are
active with the reported values of K=4 (Dourbes and IZMIRAN; NOAA
reports Kp=4). We expect active to minor storm geomagnetic conditions to

persist during the following 24 hours.
