COMMENT: Solar activity is low with only isolated C-class flares. NOAA

AR 1460 (Catania 1) and NOAA AR 1459 (Catania 2) are still growing, but

maintaining beta configuration. New NOAA AR 1465 (Catania 10) emerged
yesterday and is growing rapidly. We expect C-class flares and possibly

M-class flare. ACE solar wind data indicate arrival of the sector
boundary at 07:00 UT on April 20. The crossing of the sector boundary
was related to the fluctuations of the Bz component of the
interplanetary magnetic field and periods of its negative value (up to
–
8 nT). The solar wind speed is about 360 km/s. Due to the low solar wind

speed, geomagnetic conditions are at the moment quiet. The arrival of
the partial halo CME from April 19 is expected late on April 22. We do

not expect strongly disturbed geomagnetic conditions (K index maximum 4)

due to the slow speed of the CME.
