COMMENT: Solar activity has been low, new NOAA AR 1416 (Catania 38) has

produced a series of B-class flares but is evolving fast and has
potential for more powerful events (up to the M level). There are two AR

rotating over the east limb which produced M-class flares during their

last transit. There was a filament erupting over the northeast limb at

21:00 UT that produced a CME which is not expected to be geoeffective,

although the Earth may encounter a possible associated ICME shock in 3

to 4 days. Geomagnetic activity has been quiet to unsettled, the fast
speed stream from a small coronal hole arrived but it was very weak and

didn't produce any noticeable effect yet. For the next 2 days, more
unsettled to active periods can be expected due to the arrival of fast

streams from weak coronal holes.
