COMMENT: Flaring activity has been low in the past 24 hours, with just

one C1.0 flare on February 1, peaking at 04:41 UT. We expect solar
activity to remain quiet within the next 24 hours, with a slight chance

for a C flare.
LASCO C2 has first observed a CME directed towards the west at 17:12 UT

on January 31. According to COR2 A imagery, there is a possibility that

this CME will deliver a glancing blow to the Earth on February 5. Its
speed measured on COR2 A J-maps is 213 km/s. Geomagnetic conditions are

quiet and are expected to stay quiet on February 1 and 2. On February 3,

active geomagnetic levels are possible due to the arrival of an
anticipated coronal hole high speed stream.
