COMMENT: NOAA regions 11390, 11392, 11388 and 11389 have each produced

a low C flare in the last 24 hours. The brightest flare was released by

NOAA AR 1392 and had a GOES X-ray flux peak value of C2.6 around 00:09

UT on January 7. More C flares are expected in the next 24 hour period.

After the arrival on Janury 6 of the expected Coronal Hole high speed
stream, ACE has measured solar wind velocities between 400 and 450 km/s

in the last 24 hours, with the IMF around 5 nT. Geomagnetic conditions

have been quiet in this period, and are expected to be quiet with a
chance of active periods on January 7. Quiet conditions are likely on
January 8. On January 9, a glancing blow is possible from the CME first

observed by COR2 A on January 5, 14:24 UT, in which case active
geomagnetic levels are expected.
