COMMENT: Numerous C-class flares were observed during the past 24h,
mainly originating from NOAA AR 11389. The largest flares this region
produced were C7 flares yesterday at 14:25 UT and today at 07:18 UT.
This region is expected to produce more C-flares with a small chance for
an M-flare.
The interplanetary magnetic field has been fluctuating between values
of -10nT and 10nT. This relates to the arrival of the CME's on December
25 and 26. The solar wind speed is steadily increasing, but still rather
low around 380 km/s. Kp did not exceed a value of 3. Unsettled to active
conditions are possible today and tomorrow due to these CME arrivals and
a coronal hole high speed wind stream.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 080, BASED ON 05 STATIONS.
