COMMENT: NOAA AR 11339 (No Catania number yet) has been quite active
during the past 24 h. It produced numerous C-flares and 2 M-flares. The
first was an M4.3 flare, peaking at 22:01 UT yesterday evening and the
second one an M2.5 flare with peak time at 11h11 UT today. This first
M-class event was associated with a clear CME in SOHO/LASCO images. As
the source region is still on the east solar limb, this CME is not
earth-directed. We are waiting for more incoming data on the second
event.
We expect active solar conditions. More M-class flares are likely from
active region NOAA 11339, with a chance for an X-class event. We expect
geomagnetic quiet conditions to persist over the next 24h.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 092, BASED ON 03 STATIONS.
