PREDICTIONS FOR 02 Nov 2011 10CM FLUX: 146 / AP: 004

COMMENT: Solar activity was moderate, with a rapid succession of 4 weak

M1 flares that all took place at the North-East limb. While the active

regions on the solar disk are expected to produce only occasional C
flares, new active regions now appearing at the East limb may contribute

to a rise of the activity, with more M flares. A new weak shock was
recorded in the solar wind by ACE on Nov.1 at 7:30UT. Although the Bz
component jumped to -15nT, the solar wind speed only rose to 420km/s and

is now stable. This slight disturbance thus only produced temporary
unsettled to active geomagnetic conditions. Now, the geomagnetic field

is expected to return to unsettled and then quiet levels for the rest of

the 3-day period.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 079, BASED ON 09 STATIONS.
