COMMENT: No less than 12 sunspot groups are reported by Catania today.

Seven out of these twelve groups emerged during the last 24 hours.
Flaring activity at the C-class level is therefore probable, with a
possible occasional M-class flare. Catania sunspot group 54 (NOAA AR
1283) is currently situated behind the west solar limb, but still keeps

a possibility to produce an eruption accompanied by a proton event.
Solar wind speed at the Earth is currently elevated (around 640 km/s) in

the wake of the ICME arrival on September 9-10. The interplanetary
magnetic field magnitude is currently average (around 5-6 nT), so we
expect quiet geomagnetic conditions, although isolated intervals of
active conditions are not excluded.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 092, BASED ON 14 STATIONS.
