COMMENT: NOAA AR 1271 has evolved into a beta-gamma configuration and
has potential for M-class flares, even though it has only produced a
C1.1 flare in the last 24h (peaking at 1604 on August 22). Geomagnetic

conditions are quiet while the Earth is under the influence of the solar

wind from a mild coronal hole, the speed is close to 500 km/s for the
moment but the interplanetary magnetic field is near 10nT, if it turns

southwards active conditions can occur with possible isolated minor
storm periods.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 068, BASED ON 14 STATIONS.
