COMMENT: A C-class flare is still probable to occur on the Sun,
especially in the Catania sunspot group 25 (NOAA AR 1247), and in the
unnumbered active region close to the south-east limb that emerged last

night. An interplanetary sector boundary was crossed by ACE early
yesterday. It was followed by a fast solar wind stream from a
low-latitude coronal hole in the northern hemisphere. Due to the small

size of the coronal hole, the solar wind speed reached only 540 km/s.
NOAA reported three intervals of active (K = 4) geomagnetic conditions

due to the arrival of the fast stream and its interaction region with
the preceding slow solar wind. However, the K index at both Dourbes and

IZMIRAN reached only 3. Currently the Earth is inside a solar wind flow

with an intermediate speed (around 500 km/s) and a slightly elevated
(around 7 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. We expect quiet

geomagnetic conditions, with active conditions possible, but unlikely.
