PREDICTIONS FOR 18 Jun 2011 10CM FLUX: 103 / AP: 004

COMMENT: Solar activity is low. Only minor B flares occurred over the
last 24 hours. Still, the 3 active regions now on the solar disk can
still produce occasional C flares, with a minor chance of a stronger M
flare from active region NOAA 11236. The May 14 CME hit the Earth around
2:40UT on June 17. However, only the shock was briefly felt by the
magnetosphere and the solar wind speed quickly decreased from a peak of
550km/s back to 450km/s in just 6 hours. This caused only temporary
unsettled geomagnetic conditions during a few hours. The Earth
magnetosphere is now mostly quiet and is expected to remain so until
June 19, when a small coronal hole may start to disturb it slightly.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 040, BASED ON 12 STATIONS.
