COMMENT: A small shock passed the ACE satellite around 20:00UT, June
09. This was probably the glancing blow of the plasma cloud that left
the Sun on June 07. The geomagnetic response was limited at the
planetary level: the estimated Kp index was 3-2. Locally, the magnetic

field could be disturbed up to a local value of 4. Flaring activity is

quiet. The proton flux is still decreasing.
The total magnetic field went up to 14nT around 20:00UT, on June 09 in

the L1 point as measured by the satellite ACE. It stabilized again to
the value of 9nT. The Bz component is negative: -6nT. The SWANS Nowcast

tool for geomagnetic activity predicts a geomagnetic storm: k=>5 for the

coming hours. This sudden increase of the strength of the magnetic field

is possibly linked with the CME that left the Sun on June 07. The speed

of the solar wind is moderate: 400 km/s.
