COMMENT: Another M flare (M1.3) occurred this morning at 04h43 in NOAA
AR 11166 (Catania 22). An associated type II radio burst was observed.
Together with NOAA AR 11169 and 11172, this region is likely to produce
more C-flares in the coming days. Another M-flare is also possible. A
CME was observed in LASCo around 2h24 this morning. Comparison with
STEREO data show that it occurred on the back side of the sun. The
geomagnetic storm that occurred last night (due to CMEs observed on
March 7 and 8) is subsiding. Kp reached a maximum of 6 during two
3h-periods late on yesterday. The solar wind speed increased to 550
km/s. We expect geomagnetic conditions to return to quiet to unsettled
levels today.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 043, BASED ON 05 STATIONS.
