COMMENT: An M3.5 flare has occurred this morning, peaking at 7h35 UT.
The flare originated in an upcoming active region on the east (left)
side of the sun and is visible in SWAP
(http://proba2.sidc.be/swap/data/mpg/movies/20110224_swap_movie.mp4),
SDO/AIA and in STEREO-B beacon images. Radio images from Humain show a

strong radio burst, indicative of a coronal shock
(http://www.sidc.be/humain/fetch_survey.php?year 11&month&day$).
Given the position of the AR the consequences for the Earth environment

are expected to remain very limited. More C or M flares from the
upcoming active region may be expected. Geomagnetic activity is quiet
and is expected to remain so during the next days. A large coronal hole

is visible in STEREO-B EUV images. As a result from the fast wind stream

emanating from it, we expect geomagnetic unsettled to active conditions

around Feb 27-28.
