COMMENT: The all quiet alert was terminated earlier today, however for

the next 24 hours we still expect rather quiet conditions with possible

intervals of C-flaring from NOAA AR 1142 and 1141. This is based on the

following observations: (1) increasing flaring activity from NOAA AR
1141 and 1142. Both have produced a small C-flare (2) A coronal hole
passing over central meridian in the northern hemisphere. During last
rotation it gave rise to moderate geomagnetic conditions with a solar
wind speed of >600 km/s. (3) A filament that erupted late on Jan 1st
that lead to a slow CME on Jan 2nd. The combined observation from
SOHO/LASCO and STEREO indicate that the CME is NOT directed straight to

the Earth, but to the west of it. We therefore do not expect geomagnetic

consequences from this CME. We also note that the partial solar eclipse

of this morning was observed by SWAP/PROBA2; more info is available on

our website http://www.sidc.be/index.php.
