COMMENT: Solar activity remains quiet. GOES detected a B8.1 flare
peaking at 17h01UT yesterday, originating from NOAA 1096. A halo CME was
seen in the LASCO C2 data yesterday starting around 05h36 UT. Comparison
with STEREO COR2 data showed it was not earth-directed. Geomagnetic
conditions are expected to be quiet during the forecasting period.
Unsettled conditions are still possible today as the Earth is under the
influence of the halo CME on August 7.
