COMMENT: The only sunspot group on the solar disc (Catania number 93,
NOAA AR 1084) is unlikely to produce a C-flare. The Earth is currently
inside the fast (540 km/s) solar wind stream with average (5 nT)
magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field. The fast stream
originates from a low-latitude extension of the polar coronal hole in
the northern hemisphere. We expect quiet to active geomagnetic
conditions, with possible isolated intervals of minor geomagnetic storm
as the fast stream is expected to continue over the next 48 hours.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 007, BASED ON 17 STATIONS.
