COMMENT: Solar activity is still very low, but three new small sunspot
groups emerged on the solar disk over the last 24 hours. The most
developed one, Catania #81, has now grown to B-type. During this early
growth phase, one can expect a few C flares from any of those new active
regions. The solar wind is stable around 400km/s, but there is still a
risk of a fast stream reaching the Earth over the next 24 hours, due to
a
geoeffective coronal hole on the Sun. The current quiet geomagnetic field
may thus become unsettled to active during a few hours, before returning
to quiet conditions on day 3 (June 10).
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 009, BASED ON 13 STATIONS.
