COMMENT: The main active region on the Sun (NOAA11054, Catania #52) is

now declining and did not produce any flare over the past 48 hours. We

thus expect low solar activity. The solar wind speed increased over the

last 24 hours, now reaching 500 km/s. It is unclear if this is a weak
recurrent fast solar wind stream or a glancing blow of the slow March 14

CME expected to arrive today March 17. In either cases, we only expect

that the current quiet to unsettled geomagnetic conditions may be
temporarily enhanced to active levels over the next 24 hours, before
returning to quiet levels.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 019, BASED ON 12 STATIONS.
