COMMENT: Solar activity is expected to be at active levels during the
next 48 hours. A new active region appeared on Feb. 5th at about N25E35,

and currently displays sunspots as observed by the Catania observatory

on Feb. 6th. A C1 flare occurred in this region on Feb. 6th at 10:48UT

(peak time) and another flare, peaking around C3 at about 6UT is likely

to originate from the same region, although a data gap prevents to
confirm this fact at the time of this message. Geomagnetic activity is

expected to be mostly quiet during the next 48 hours. ACE data currently

show some negative excursions of the Bz value down to -5nT which might

induce some isolated unsettled conditions.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 023, BASED ON 07 STATIONS.
