COMMENT: Solar activity is quiet and is expected to remain so. The
Earth is currently inside the slow solar wind flow (290 km/s) with
average magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field (4 nT). We expect
quiet geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours. The arrival of the
fast solar wind flow from a low-latitude coronal hole in the northern
hemisphere is expected on August 18. Disturbed geomagnetic conditions up
to the minor storm level are possible.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 000, BASED ON 17 STATIONS.
