COMMENT: A CME was seen off the eastern limb of the Sun starting around

00:30 UT on March 18 as seen by LASCO. It was not directed towards the

Earth. This is the second CME of similar characteristics reported this

week. The solar wind measured by ACE is very weak, with speeds below 300

km/s and densities around 0.5 protons/cm^3, the magnetic field is also

weak (around 3 nT), resulting in Kp indices of 0 or 1. The situation may

change on March 19-20 due to the arrival of the fast solar wind from a

coronal hole. Unsettled conditions may be expected with isolated active

periods possible. As a precaution the All-Quiet-Alert is halted.

TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 000, BASED ON 14 STATIONS.
