COMMENT: The NOAA H-alpha plage 0998 (no Catania number) has produced
an A4.6 flare peaking at 23:31 UT yesterday. The flare was accompanied
by a narrow CME, which is unlikely to become geoeffective. Last night
the Earth has entered the fast solar wind stream produced by the
equatorial coronal hole. The stream speed is currently around 600 km/s,
so we foresee active geomagnetic conditions. Isolated minor storm
intervals are possible, although unlikely.
TODAY'S ESTIMATED ISN : 004, BASED ON 12 STATIONS.
