Thank you for the welcome mat, Warren. Sorry about the blooper. .
The position regarding TV stations here is :
hoice of four networks.

ABC: National network - HD digital on UHF.Three different channels
carrying different programmes..
WIN: Regional from CH. 9 Eastern states - analogue but changing over next
year. UHF. One programme reayed from Perth.
GWN7: Regional from channels 7 and 10 in Perth and relayed from Bunbury on
the west coast by microwave link. Analogue but changin over next year
also. One programme.
SBS; which carries a number of foreign language telecasts as well as
English. UHF and HD digital. Also 3 channels carrying different
programmes. A fourth which carries the same as 1. Dunno why the
duplication. Probably ready for the future.
WIN and GWN7 are commercials of course. All our stations in this city are
on UHF but only ABC and SBS are digital at present.
.
I also have FOXTEL on satellite and another Optus satellite which gives me
60 or 70 channels from many other countries, Turkey, Japan, Aba Dabu,
Iran. Thailand - you name it it's there.
The TV sets being sold here now are largely if not all HD and digital
enabled.
TV sets, made in China are now very cheap especially with the AUS$ so high
in value.

Just defragged this old computer. Looked like a rainbow before it was
finished.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
