OK, OK, but if you want to be pedantic a "video CD" is a DVD... (;->)
BUP stands for Back UP so they're backups to the IFO files in case the
DVD player has trouble reading them, the VOB files are the bits and
pieces of the movie and whatever extras may be on the disc.
