Hello to Bob , Ian and Warren, as well anyone else reading along;

While we all have nearly the same problems with local authority
let's no forget that it isn't our "right" as a ham or whatever
but priveledge to operate, and this can be lost at anytime.

When I first moved here Bob, that was my main concern, the location
of the incoming powerline, and the regulations at the time, and
for the tower, to the rain gutters ... 2 sections, no permit
needed at that time. Now lately the powerline was moved, and
guess what...it comes passed my tower at less then 3 feet...to
which I complained they couldn't do that, when discovered.

We are currently in a battle over this, with the most interesting
reasons they can not move it ... Battle started this Wednesday
and more to come. More excuses too....

Thats interesting. Maybe I should suggest they come up to date
with the Australian method. hahahhaa....will love to hear their
answer.

Warren is in a high popalation area, and well given he is invaded
and denied the summer on the beach free of the "Bennies" no need
of a tower and what is called a Deep Fringe TV Antenna ...But we
need it here or ride with cable TV. That is NOW an option I
am looking at, but for other reasons and bundling... another topic.

YES ... I wonder how many people running afoul of council over
their outside antenna know they have some power to weld at the
voter's booth come election day? Most electors love promises
forget the past...so mmmm forget that one.

OK onto the next one from Ian G0TEZ ....

So Ian, there is a national policy that the national Government
holds perhaps over the local town council? Or perhaps due to
the makeup of how things are done, the old city states idea lingers
and they have trump decision even over a national policy.

Amateur aerials .... and I wonder what a TV viewer is called, if
not a professional TV viewer ...perhaps a Amateur TV Viewer... and
in any case they do pay a fee for a licence to the national government
agency, which I think was the Post Office, as they collected where
we once lived.

That is interesting, as many in our type of council home, or low rent
did the same ... temporary telecopic pole in the yard, not attached
in anyway...

Oh no ... I could have used that idea here ...but alast we don't pay
a licence, and then ...no no no .... I am still wondering why I want
a digital converter for the rest of the TVs, and a new AE <as you call it>
for the tower to get ....uggg... the CBC our voice of our glorious
leader weeping Stevie.

Oh wow ... the one I saw didn't ...and I am not paying 100 bucks for it.

Our students like yours pay high enough...but then it was FREE and FREE
grants and the students after graduating...left CANADA...so they have
no one here to blame but those who grabbed the FREE student lown or
grant and moved out of CANADA ... We taxpayers... paid for their eduaction
and some other country benefitted from them moving there..or enticed there
by recruitment ...so there was a reason...but it is a lot to pay back
when you see it, plus interest.

I find it amazing talking to family in the USA ... that not a whimper
on getting unemployment or old age security cheques... but Health Care
is Socialist.

Aaah Communism ... and what or how much each accepted and used?
The old USSR wasn't really Communist, if one was to follow closely
the book .... and today's China was changed it's Communism to match
the world reality. The NAZIS were socialist ... and like Hitler
all the know branded Commie countrys had a dictator of sorts no elections
or their form of choosing a leader. Sweden works it's parts of
social reforms or socialistic ideas ...and they seem ok for them.

> My lfe started with a war and went almost immedietly into another war,

I think they were innvolved in many countrys other then Korean that
never made the news ...and as yet the Korean War is NOT over. There
is just an Armistist agreement in place ... many today are so ignorant
of this fact of live...but not the people in the south or the region.

> Then they attacked their wartime ally Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam whic again,

Many reason Ian, for that loss.

aaaah poor NATO ... now used for purposes it was not created for.

We over here, also have the CPC < Communist Party of CANADA > and other
types of it, that split form the main group. Interesting conversations
with them always at union meetings and shop steward meetings, gave a
little splice of life break from the issues we faced at the time.

Before WW2 there was Mr. Mosley and the NAZI party in UK too, and my
dad used to tell me of their meetings..but as soon as the war came
they vanished..Mr. Mosley went to jail ... and the fallout was all
those spys that came from the Universitys in UK faithful to their new
fantasy in the USSR.

> Why the Americans should want to throw away millions of young men's

EASY ... There is only one form of government...the FREE election of
a government. NO mention of the Capitalist money busineeses and
people with billions that control that elected government OR make sure
they can convince the electors to vote for them .... aaah theu it is
a FREE election .... BUT then who really runs the country ... policy is
the government and those who support them...backroom gang...CAPITALISM.

Aaah OIL ....black GOLD. Have we not seen the effects of it's worth
with events in our time ... and while WE are consumers and fed this
WE need it ... the price flops about making fortunes etc ...when WE
should be exploring other ways of energy.

> Viva Fidel.

YES ... Look at his revolution. Look at the lands owned by whom
and their involement in the National Governments of CUBA. The US
invaded CUBA in the early 1900s, and then setup BAPISTA their puppet
and then look at the Dupont plantation there and others...which only
were there for one reason ... And then the revolution and the embargos
today on CUBA. Fidel certainly fought back. Why not. They all
have fought back. Thats why there was a 911 .... that was a form
of payback.

Sorry readers, for changing the topic... it was and is HDTV @WW
and CANADA is now digital ... and anyone without the HDTV is screwed
and needs a converter to receive and watch the garbage on the tube
now .... Obviously someone is making a nice bundle outta this,
and is smiling, with joe public and seniors on fixed crap pensions
are trying to buy converters , opposed to spending more to buy new
sets and fill lands or dumps with the millions of old TVs .... YOU
just gotta love this society.

I am on Skype and MSN .... for more direct comments...73 Pete VE3WBZ
