Hi Bob and all,

"However to go vertical with these translators of our makes sense."

I tend to disagree but don't I always? (;->) A perfect example of WHY I
disagree is Reading, PA I mentioned in a previous bull. There is a string
of translators atop Mt. Penn with circularly polarized antennas
(previously horizontal) on stubby towers just to get them above the
trees. Why put them vertical and end up with a hodge-podge of receiving
antennas down in the valley? That's just an example, they're here and
there on short towers only so they're above local obstructions,
polarization has nothing to do with it since their only purpose is to
fill in holes in the coverage area known in the business as "the market".

OK, Ian mentioned cross polarization to mitigate co-channel interference
and my response was we put them on separate channels. All things
considered it's my guess you follow in British footsteps, that is to say
adopted their standards as you have with so many things. You don't DARE
adopt US standards, THINK OF THE QUEEN!
