I, too, have seen this problem but mainly in older radios. It would seem that
the wiring schema in the microphone is to blame. There shouldn't be a connection
to the microphone element unless the PTT circuit is complete.
I'm not seeing this behavior on the IC-M802 I have on my sailboat.
There should be a better way to deal with the problem other than having to disconnect
the microphone all the time. Hope you get it figured out.
